I put 250 rounds through my Maadi. We also got out dad's M1 Carbine. What a great little shooter.

I love my USA-Maadi Hi CAp Misr. What a work horse. I go backpacking often into the mtns of the So. Rockies. I always take along my Misr, and will usually put over 1,000rds through her on one trip. I keep ammo buried in certain locations for years at a time, so I don't have to carry it with me up into the hills. I'll just go get a 1,000 round cache, and go crazy for a few days. Weather and bad field conditions do nothing (or very little) to the performance of the weapon. I have had mud in the receiver, and it functioned flawlessly. I even purposely put mud and snow into the guts of the Misr, and it's almost like the thing loves it. The AK, even in its weakest form, the Misr, is more reliable than any battle rifle i can think of. To all you AR and MIni-14 owners: Accuracy doesn't mean squat in the field if your weapon can't function because you fell into a muddy puddle. My backpackin buddy has an AR and a Mini, both of top quality, and they freeze up when the mercury goes well below O degrees F. Always freeze up below -15 degrees F, guaranteed, not the Misr, which cost me $500 less than a decent AR. Do yourself a favor, get an AK for when TSHTF.

As a matter of fact I did. Sunday was cold, wet, windy and miserable here in Central Ohio ... as good a day as any to blast.
120 rounds thru MISR-90 @ 100yds
80 rounds thru Mosin-Nagant @ 100yds
100 rounds thru HK-91 @ 100yds
100 rounds thru Beretta 92 @25/50/100 yds

Lately, my favorite targets have been chunks of 2" thick, blue closed-cell insulating styrofoam. I cut it up into various sizes, from about 6"square to big ones of about 16" square and toss them up on the backstop. Lots of action when you hit 'em. (The .308 likes to send 'em up and over the backstop) Anyway, It seems to make a good target ... the blue is easy to see, and surprisingly, the stuff doesn't fragment and litter up the range.
