Well, I turned in my badge and my L1A1 yesterday, sure am going to miss them both. Still on ambulance, my director said conflict of interest. Guess I will have to look at STG 58.

best wishes emt722. Exactly what was the conflict of interest?? I have all sorts of things running through my mind so I'm in wondering what the deal was :confused:

wardog, my director said we dont look good arresting the public, and then the same medic picking them up later for injury or sickness. I will admit, some of our patients that I have arrested dont trust me and will not give enough information on there historyfor treatment. I dont know how some larger cities that have crews that rotate shifts from police to firemen and ambulance. Also, its hard for me to control myself when I have to pick up a child molester in the ambulance.

Yes I was paid, for the last few years I have been working nights and days off from the EMS. Now all the kids are gone and time to take it easy. My director likes to show his opinion about wearing a badge. I am the last one at the EMS to leave law inforcement, we had 5 at one time. Now we have to send in a request form for a moonlighting job, and he dont want any cops on the ambulance.I would like to get on sheriff reserve, but not a chance.
