I've got a MAADI with the butt-ugly wood stock and would like to replace it with a black synthetic or plastic stock-set much like the stocks on the Bulgarian AKs.
Does anyone know where I can get one that is:
(a) Made in the U.S.A and
(b) will fit without having to whittle or file on it.

Thanks in advance for the info.

The wood on the Maadi/USA Hi CAp cleans up nicely. It will look original and will only cost you a quart of turpentine and a quart of boiled linseed oil (or whatever stain and finish you personally want to put on)+ some elbow grease. A furniture set up could cost you above $100. I was in the same predicament (what a man sized predicament it is, too...) as you about 2 weeks ago. I decided to refinish the orig. wood, and I don't have an ounce of regret. I am 80% of the way there, and it looks friggin terrific, so good that I wanna spend that $100 (or less hopefully) on paying someone to refinish all the metal pieces + a new pistol grip. Take a look at Keychain's refinished Maadi on this forum room, if you haven't already....to see the look I am going for. Tight as heck.

Ace at www.riflestocks.com (http://www.riflestocks.com) has some good stuff. I bought one of their AR style, US made grips for my Misr SA and it looks and feels great.
