Just a quick question. Is the AK-47, more speicifcally the MISR supposed to hold the bolt open after the last shot has been fired? I just got a MISR recently, and when shooting it, found it did not. My buddy and I both thought this strange because his SKS does.
Thanks,
MISRBoy
SKS fixed 10 and 20 rd mags do this but not 30rd AK mags. The only AK mag I have seen that will do it is Chinese 20rd mags. They have a piece that sticks up on the rear of the mag follower that holds the bolt back.

MISRBoy,
As far as I know, no true AK variant has had a last shot bolt hold open device. As for Chinese magazines the ones I have seen had regular followers, nothing unique about them. If the bolt of any typical AK hangs up on the mag follower after the last shot it would merely mean that the bolt and carrier would slam home as soon as you removed the mag.
You are right about the SKS as it DOES have a last shot bolt hold open device in the receiver which the AK does not have. Hope the info helps.
