Need help on preban Maddi

Hello : I looking for another preban and had a seller email me telling me he has a preban
maddi . How can i make sure it is preban
what do i look for as well as a bayont lug.
who has a preban maddi ??
was there more than one importer for maddis
Help me out guys .

Look if it has a threaded barrel. The importer of the pre-ban Maadis was Steyr.
I got a close-up pic if a pre-ban Maadi's right side of the reciever that I can e-mail you if you'd like.

AK-fan is right. The ONLY preban Maadi's are Steyrs. A real one will have the following markings on it:

Lower right front side of the reciever will say STEYR,SECAUCUS,N.J.

Lower left rear side of the reciever will say ARM SEMI AUTOMATIC RIFLE
CALIBER 7.62X39
MAADI COMPANY
MADE IN EGYPT

The 30 round magazine will have MADE IN EGYPT stamped on the bottom. Thats if it still has it's original mag.

I'm know this because I'm looking at mine as we speak. As AK-Fan said, it should also have a threaded muzzle with NO welds. I believe that most of the original stock sets were laminated and they have a brown plastic pistol grip.

If it's a real Steyr in good shape...GRAB IT. These were made in Egypt by Russians on Russian tooling. It's as close as you can get to a real Russian AK. You didn't say how much they wanted for it. Real Steyrs are usually anywhere from $1500 up. Mostly up.
