Krinkov Flash Suppressor

Is it true that the main purpose of the Krinkov type Flash Suppressor is to boost gas pressure so the action can cycle? If so how did the AK pistols from MARS, built on BWest receivers work, they didn't have the Krinkov type Flash Suppressor available then. Was the MARS pistol barrel longer than the Krinkov barrel?

A booster is not needed to make a krink function.

It is a old wives tale.

They function fine without them. That is right out of Murray Urbachs mouth.
