I want a 7.62 one, but I do not care if it is functional. I think I will buy the kit then get a postban 7.62 receiver and have it built so it cannot function. I know you won't all understand but I just want one to hang on my wall not shoot. Is this legal to do?

TOTALLY. K-Var sells one for $1k.
You have to weld or tourch cut the chamber of the barrel all down and messy so that it can't be just changed in a day. Stick something in the barrel, Melt the trinion to the barrel so its a gooey mess but stil allows the bolt to close. I was thinking of doing the same with a nigga-rigged milled reciever and stamped reciever krinks kit. It'll barely fit, doesn't have to work anyway but it would look cosmetically nice...

1K is a little more the I had wanted to spend on this project. I was hoping to get this project in under $400.00 depending on PA 7.62 price for the kit.
I'm not positive , but if you use a real receiver, it would have to still be register with the NFA as a dewat. Or you will have to use an 80% receiver. If you do use a real receiver you would still probably be inviolation of the NFA laws. I would check with ATF first for the proper demiling process.
All the dummy guns I have seen are on 80% recievers, and have the barrel welded shut.
