Do the holes in a 5.45 trunion match up to a 7.62 trunion? What has to be done to use a 5.45 trunion on a 7.62 receiver, which is the best receiver to use?

1) NO they don't.
2)So far just drill some holes that match up with the ones in the 5.45 trinoun.
3) NOT chineese.

the smiths I have talked to said that the chinese recievers woork fine, you just have to weld up the old trunnion holes and take a little bit off trunnions to compensate for the thicker receiver that that chinese guns have.

How about the Tenn Guns 7.62 ($80.00)receiver that doesnt have the holes for the trunion or rear stock drilled? How would you know where to drill to get the 5.45 trunion lined up? Like the rest of you trying to find the easiest and cheapest way to do this.

HEY GUYS,
FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY A MANUFACTURER THE 7.62 AND THE 5.45 RECEIVERS ARE TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT CREATURES. NOT ONLY MAY THE RIVET HOLES NOT LINE UP ,BUT YOU HAVE THE PROBLEM OF THE GUIDE RAILS BEING IN TOTALLY DIFFERENT PLACES AND ALSO A DIFFERENT SIZE MAG WELL. HOPE THIS HELPS...

This is the first time I've heard that the rails might be in a different place.
Anybody else have a comment on that?
Thanks

the ejector tab is slightly longer on a 5.45. the rails are indentical, other than that. the mag well opening is sized differently.
all this said, 7.62 recs. have been successfully used to build 5.45 rifles on.

I have used Norinco, Poly Tech, Maadi, Romanian, Hesse, Krinks, Hungarian to build the Krinkov guns. You may build using 7.62, .223, 5.45. If you are using a .223 receiver for an example you would have to shorten the ejector that is made into the left side bolt guide rail, so that it will work on a 7.62 round. If you were making a
5.45 you do not have to do anything to it.
The .223 ejector is close enough to work on the 5.45 round.
The chamber end of the european barrels have to be turned down to use them in a chinese receiver or you have to shorten and turn down the chinese barrel to use the bulgarian parts. Either way it takes the same amount of labor and works just fine.
The rear trunion will have to be resurfaced
to use it on the chinese receivers. The difference between the european and chinese receivers are enough that the parts will have to be fitted.
There are several other things that have to be modified but it depends on which receiver you are using.
I have not used the any of the milled receivers as of yet, but I am working on a program to recut the rear or the receiver so the Ak 74 style stock can be used.
Yes I do install the 74 stock assemblies on the post ban receivers, but they are fixed in place and will not fold.
The use of a FAKE SUPPRESOR on the krinkov will allow you to have you gun while it is being transfered to you. You can submit the
form 1 and form 4 yourself and when the approved form comes back to you remove the Fake Suppressor. In the States that do not allow SBR ownership a person can have a Krinkov with the Fake Suppressor installed.
