Is there any way to modify milled Bulgarian receiver to accept stamped Bulgarian Krink kit? Or for that matter modify the Krink kit?
yes, but dont mod the rcvr
im planning on making 1 with a bulg rcvr
the barrel dont fit in the bulgarian trunion on rcvr, its a butt hair to small
so a sleeve has to be made, ill have someone
else do this but basically the gunsmith said he would make a sleeve to fit the barrel.
freeze the barrel, heat up the sleeve and merge the 2 pieces, then he would mill down the sleeve thats on the barrel to fit the bulgarian rcvr and also head space it
sounds easy uh, no prob
ya right

XTC now that the bbl fit is settled how or what do you do about the folding stock, the ejector, and mag well opening????

HATCHETJOE, im by no means a gunsmith, just trying to help with what i know and what im planning on doing. The barrel/trunion was my only problem, i was gonna do everything else by myself ( i hope )
now that the barrel problem is fixed
folding stock:
it was my understanding that a bulgarian rcvr is to be used, these r postban, they come with hardware to mount a fixed stock, however a folding stock would be illegal, but if u wanted to put it on and then pin it so it dont fold. i talked to a gunsmith and he said thats the hardest part of building a krink is the folding stock, for the milled rcvr he said he would basically weld an arm or 2 to fit the folder on it.
my idea was to mill the back trunion off the back of the rcvr, just the part of thr trunion that sticks out of the rcvr, then mill off some the the back trunion that comes with the parts kits then then finally weld the milled trunion to the back of the rcvr
then u will have the original mount for the folder on the gun
( this is still a theory of mine )
mag well: just weld a thin peice of metal on both sides of the mag well to make up the difference, u might have to play with it to fit right
extractor: i have heard that some AK's when converted dont need the extractor modified
if it does need to be modified just weld a small bead on the side of the extractor to elongate the extractor a butthair or 2
then grind off the excess weld
and wal laa a new krink is born
this all sounds good to me but i havent done any of this yet, im still trying to figure out if i should go sbr or aow
if anyone can think of a better way or an
easier way by all means do tell
