20 rd mags, very nice. I hope some get imported soon. I may have to try chopping some 30 rd mags down to 20 rd size.

What kind of scope or sight is that in the first pic?

Where can I get a pair of mirrored goggles like that??!!

Thanks

Cutting down a Bulgarian mag is the only way to go right now Timkel. Unless someone else knows where they are available.

Cutting down a mag and glueing the floorplate rails back on doesnot sound like a very strong system. A cut down 20rd mag would be more for display.

Do you remember awhile back a guy was cutting down 5.45x39 German bakelite mags to 20rds? Who was that guy? Did any of you buy one from him?

I do remember the post about cutting a 30 rd mag. It certainly looked like a good idea.If you use the proper glue and make a good cut, I think it would be strong enough.
Plus with eg AK-74 30 rd bakalite mags going for $4-5.00 each it worth a try.

I wonder what would be the best adhesive to use? I have used epoxy for modeling and superglue. Both of wich are inferior products IMHO particularily in cold weather epoxy will shatter like glass.

I have had good success with JB weld for repairing a broken floorplate on my Walther .22 pistol magazine, looks like crap though. Maybe 3M makes a better product.

The type of glue definately would make or break this project. I'm not an expert in this area. Did that original member who was doing this already, mention the glue type?
I am going to search for that string and do a little research.

I wish I could buy several of those 20rd mags.
