How often do you clean teh barrel of your rifle and how much you clean it?

This is the procedure I follow on my H&K SL-8.
I clean it every time I shoot it and every 20-40 rounds if possible.
I use a Dewey coated rod with brass jag. Put a wet patch through the barrel, one way only, then let the solvent do its job for a couple of minutes, and then run a dry patch. I repeat 3-4 times till the carbon residues ar cleaned and just the copper fouling remains. I then run a wet patch 20 times and let work for 10 minutes, then run a dry patch in, followed by a further wet patch and dry patch untill all blue has come off (no copper in the barrel).
I then run a patch wetted with Formula 3 or any other oil which doesn't contain PTFE or other additives in the barrel for rust protection.
I clean all other parts as necessary (bolt face and lug, lug recesses, bolt carrier, gas group) and oil them with Break Free CLP. The Gas group and piston are left dry as per instructions. Just the rod and spring are lightly oiled.
I dry up the barrel and chamber before firing.

to clean my AR within a day or two after a range trip, sometimes that means 100 rounds a couple times it has ment 1000 rounds on an out-of-state trip. I normaly run a bore brush with CLP down the bore, then let it sit while I clean the bolt and carrier group, and the reciver. Then I run dry patches through the bore 2 or 3 then one with a light coat of CLP. Done;)

CLP doesn't do much for copper removal, even if it's very good against crud.
A lot of people adopts integrally the military way of cleaning rifles. It has good points, such as the cleaning done the second and third day after the "main" cleaning, but it's mainly thought for people who are reluctant to clean their guns and have to clean them in a hurry and use barrels that will wear out in a few thousands shots and aren't meant to hit a human sized target within 300m, not exactly pin point accuracy.
Most Ar15s with heavy, match barrels are capable of 0,5 to 1 MOA of accuracy, and letting them get fouled up with copper and crud will deteriorate accuracy considerably.
