I don't know anything about this gun really. I hardly ever use it. I'm not sure if this is a gun problem or an ammo problem.
The problem is this:
Regardless of the number of rounds I put in the tube, the gun will fire the first round and appears to load the second, but the second will not fire.
I will eject the round that didn't fire and in the process chamber another round. This will fire, but the one after it will not.
I inspected a few of the rounds that didn't fire and the firing pin did hit and mark the round.
Basically, it won't fire every second round.
I use CCI 22LR Mini Mag, Winchester Super-X Power Point 22LR High Velocity, and Remington 22LR Thunderbolt ammo. Are these types of ammo not powerful enough to fully cycle the gun?
All the ammo mentioned should be strong enough to cycle the action. The only problems I've encountered were with subsonic ammo. As for firing every second round, that's odd? Not knowing much about your specific gun it almost seems like the firing pin /spring is not resetting fully after the shot. When you manually load the round by pulling the bolt back your forcing it back farther than the recoil of a fired shot, maybe that's resetting it. If your comfortable with it, I'd open 'er up and have a look. See if maybe it isn't dirty or gummed up.
Maybe someone with a similar experience will chime in. Hope this helps, let us know if you get it figured out.
Good luck

Is your bolt fully closing  I have had the same problem with a 10/22 the bolt will not fully close on the second round. The hammer will fall, but the firing pin will not hit the case, do you hear the hammer falling... I have deducted that mine does not like the ammo that I am using  Let us know what you find out...

I will try to take it apart, but I've never been inside the gun. Are there any info websites? I couldn't find any.
The bolt may not close on the second round or the bolt may not go all the way back. I noticed a few times this happened that when the bolt came forward on the second round (gun should be fully cocked) the trigger would not move.
I do notice that with this gun, there is a defined sound/feeling when the gun cycles fully and correctly. When there is a malfunction as I described, this sound/feeling was not present.

Well, I went into its guts and cleaned the hell out of it. I looked at the spring and there was a lot of gunk at the rear which may have been the problem (bolt not traveling far back enough). I used carb & choke cleaner, which works really well on the spring and all parts that looked dirty, oiled it and I am now waiting to get out to the range to see if it helped.

Let us know if that worked... I found that after cleaning my 10/22 that did not help... BUT I also broke down the gun and found that a bullet would not fall freely into the chamber, I scrubbed the chamber and polished it and now have no hangups, I too am awaiting a range day :)

Well, cleaning the rifle fully worked really well. It cycles fully now.
There are still problems with stovepiping, but it has always done that, so that's no big deal to me.

That is great to hear :D
 Never under estimate the power of a good cleaning!

lol, no kidding!
I was thinking of selling it, but after I went to the range, I decided against it - I forgot how fun that thing was to shoot!
Anybody know where I can get some upgrades? stocks? barrels?
I was wondering, how much is this rifle worth? I went to the Indy 1500 gun show, but I couldn't find any of these. the only .22's I found were 10/22's and bolt .22's, so I had nothing to really compare it to. Any ideas?
