On the retainer for the lower hand guard, which way does the lever go? Up or Down? I am assuming it goes up and that some of the material on the barrel needs to be removed to make a slot for it to move it. Is this correct? Thanks

K-VAR kit??
Yes, you have to cut the notch on the top of the barrel for the lower handguard retainer. I believe the lever flips forward to lock???

Timkel is correct on both counts. A Dremel and tungsten carbide bit work perfect for cutting the notch. Remember only the front of the notch is critical to placement, the back can be further back than required. In other words, if you make the notch too large, make sure it is to the rear, otherwise you will have a loose handguard.

RICKY_RECON I had put a whole explanation about the lever, but then realized that you were asking about the Krinks and that I don't know anything about them YET...
And I couldn't delete the post...
