And I wish it didn't.

Not a bad idea to have the option, but the default setting should be to not get notified.

If you forget and don't uncheck the box, and it's an active thread, you are going to spam yourself to death!

So, my suggestion is that the default setting be changed so that you have to check the box if you want it to send you an email, not uncheck it to avoid being mail-bombed!
