I highly doubt it would be legal.

Take a look at how the Hell Fire works...It creates a static trigger condition that is basicly assisting in the "Bump" method. If it was internal there would be no way to create the static condition that the Hell Fire creates.

There are internal methods that will work but you will probably have a piece of metal lodged in you head if it ever failed...And it will fail.

The bump method works nicly on AK's but you can't be accurate with it. It's fun.

Check out my video of a SAR-1 and the bump method.

DB,
Since you don't want to a. end up at Club Fed and & b. have anything attached outside the receiver, you ain't gonna get to play full auto unless you use the "bump" method to fire the rifle. Even this isn't really full auto but it's damn close.

ANY internal part that allows full auto operation of the weapon is a violation of Federal law. Besides, there's no such thing as an internal "Hellfire" anyway.

If you want to rock and roll for real, save your money and get a registered, transferable, full auto gun. This is assuming you live in a state that allows you to own them. While you're at it, save some more money for all the ammo the things eat.

CAV Trooper is right on the mark here. A registered AK isn't cheap, but you can always sell it for more than you paid for it, and that's after shooting the snot out of it. Better to just go ahead and bite the bullet and buy a registered one, than to spend time in front of a judge and/or jury for having something that was 'questionable'. Full auto fire DOES draw attention wherever you shoot it. I've been shooting Class 3 stuff for years, and about every third or fourth time that I go shoot, I deal with a deputy, or curious person who heard full auto AK or M16 fire, and came to check it out. I've even had deputies approach me from DOWNRANGE during firing. A quick check of the Form 4 paperwork and a quick look in the local codes and regulations book, (which I always have in my gun cases), and 99% of the time the deputy will wish me well and take off. If you were out there with your Hellfire, you would face a lot more problems. You will be trying to explain your technicalities to a deputy, while out in the woods. All he knows is that you were firing in full auto mode. That little sheet of paper that they send you with the Hellfire device will probably not be very convincing to the deputy, and you WILL have problems. By the time you pay for your attorney, bail, and loss of your weapon, (just to be proven innocent), you could have just bought the registered AK and had money to spare. Plus, you won't have to worry about all those 'technicalities' that are just going to get you in trouble with the law anyway, even if they are technically legal.
Just my opinion and experiences...

thanks for the feedback all. i would love to own a full auto ak. but sence i dont have an extra $4000 siting around i guess i should save up. but the kicker is by the time i save up the $4000 they'll be going for $6000 arg!!! my maddi when i bought it had the disconnecter(i think thats what it is) filed down and the thing fired highly unreliable full auto. i took it back to me FFL and got it fixed. but for those few minout when i shot 10 rounds on one trigger pull were great. guess i should just save my pennies, and hope for the best. thanks all.

Yo J:

Nice video!! Thanks for sharing.

Hey this bump method thingy....I just pull forward on the handguard with a somewhat loose trigger grip and the recoil does all the shootin'? I've never tried this.

Also, has anyone gotten "checked out" after doing a bump? How are you supposed to prove that the gun isn't FA without going through everything (arrest, trial, lose gun, etc) just like having an illegal FA gun? Just wondering. Don't wanna have to shoot me a deputy....

Thanks

If you're out shooting (using the "bump" method) and the LEO's show up because they heard or somebody reported a F/A weapon being fired there's no sweat at all. Just let them fire the rifle. When they get only one bang each time the trigger is pulled, that's proof enough that it ain't a machine gun.

Besides, the selector only has two positions, safe and semi, so it isn't really rocket science. If they're still curious, show them how to "simulate" auto fire using the "bump" method. All completely legal. One trigger pull, one bang. You're just pulling the trigger REALLY fast.
