The CZ52 is a very reliable pistol, and a great buy for what they are selling for now. Tokarev's are a little more scarce now, and the price has went up on the ones still available.

The Makarov is a nice CC gun, and they are also quite reasonably priced for brand new Bulgarian models.

My recommendation is to go with the CZ. :p

If you get a VZOR 52 make sure you get several spare firing pins because it's not if but when you'll have to replace it. Takarev's are smaller, lighter, easier to reload, more accurate, and more durable(except chinese) then the VZOR 52. I like CZ pistols-and I own a VZOR 52-but I'll take a good european made Tokarev over it anyday!

I own a half dozen CZ52s AND Tokarevs.

There is no question in my mind the the Toks are better, but the CZ52s are cheaper and easier to find.

Usually that would start a fight, but this is a Tokarev forum:)

I've got 3 Toks, 2 Poles, 1 Chinese,
2 CZ-52s, a Bulgarian Makarov.

I'm not a big fan of the CZ-52s, they're a decent pistol, but I've had problems with the pins working loose, and I don't like the grip.
The firing pin is another concern, even though I haven't had any problems, yet.
I've also found them to be a bit finicky about ammo, I get misfires out ammo, that works perfectly in my Toks.

The Mak is a nice pistol, its been 100% reliable, and has decent accuracy, for a small pistol.
I haven't had any problems at all with it.
My only real knocks on it are, that 9x18mm is a wimpy round, and it also has a fairly nasty recoil, so it's not one of my favorite shooters.

The Tokarevs are a favorite of mine.
I like the design, and they fit my hand very well.
I haven't had any FTF, or FTE, problems with any of them.
The only problems I've had with them is, the add-on safety on the Chinese one liked to come on, while shooting it,[I removed it] and the slide-stop groove, on one of the Pole's slides, rounded, and wouldn't hold the slide open.[I filed it square, and don't use the lever, to release the slide, anymore]

Of the three types, I prefer the Tokarev, hands down.
