I found a sweet looking european style rifle today. It appears to be a commercially modified Swedish mauser 6.5X55. It is marked "Algen" and has a etched moose head on barrel by receiver. Anyone ever see one of these?? Know anythinf they want $359.00 for it?

I know Husqvarna made some hunting rifles off of the small ring M96 action. Maybe it's one of those. Does it look anything like this:

Pretty close to that rifle . It has a Schnabel forend, no checkering, cocking piece has been milled, sling swivel on stock, same rear sight (non-adjustible), bright bolt, and no scope holes. It seems to me 6.5mm would be set up for a scope from the factory these are probably pretty old 50's maybe? rifles.

If it is a Husky small ring, we're talking pre-WW2. And they were not set up for scopes at the factory. Most were chambered in 9.3x62 or 9.3x57. In the 40's, Husky started building on FN 98 actions in 8mm and 9.3x57.
