Hey all, I was wondering if some of you fabulous Tantal owners could maybe post your opinions of the left-hand side selector on Polish AK74's.

I've seen a few pics and they sort of seem up high and out of the way; are they really? Also, are they stiff to operate?

Thanks in advance :D

The Tantal selector dosnt work like you think it does. The left hand part of the selector controls rate of fire only (sinlge, 3 round bust and F/A), the right hand side can only be set for safe (all the way up) or fire (all the way down).

I have a friend that has a semi Tantal with the left hand selector installed. He just lengthened the saftey lever so it pokes out the left side of the receiver and stuck the left hand switch onto the nub. So his does work the saftey lever from the left side and it is VERY smooth.

edit: Also, if you plan on using the actual Tantal saftey lever youll need to weld up any predrilled holes in the receiver for that part as the Tantal lever sits much lower than a standard selector lever.

I guess you learn something new every day.

Excellent, thats ecaxtly what I wanted to hear. Now all I need to do is figure out a way to mod my safety AND get around a side-mounted optics rail.... hmm hmm hmm..... :D
