I saw these for sale at AIM for $100 and was wondering if you guys had any opinions on them as I was thinking of getting one.

and absolutely love em. The cz52 has a great, facinating design, but the TT33 has a lot of history. Both are reliable, and a blast to shoot.
Also, the cz52 is a VERY easy gun to break down and clean. Its got a reletively simple design.
By the way, I for one have had no problems with my cz52. I am sure you have or will read about fireing pin breakages/ bad ammo......the list goes on. But, I only shoot sellier/bellot in both my tok and cz52, and have had no problems. And I don't dry fire my cz52, and have never had a pin break.
The cz52 is just a lot of fun for a 100 doller gun. Pick it up, you will not regret it. But, if you can get your hands on one, the Tokarev is a great gun too.

I have 3 CZ52s and really love them. One of them is in such good condition that it is well oiled and kept in the safe.
Man do they chuck the brass! It's like shooting a 45.

Welcome to the forums, ffjoey, angebar, and ar15u2!
CZ52s and other Combloc weapons are welcome here or at the Mak forum above.
The 52 is a notable pistol due to its design, making use of the roller locking system similar to that of the MG42 and the H&K rifles. It has a particularly deep grip frame (fore to aft) to accomodate the length of the 7.62 Tok cartridge. Despite A LOT of popular press and published accounts, the 52 was not designed to handle subgun ammo; personally, I would avoid shooting surplus ammo on stripper clips and any known hot surplus subgun ammo. Sellier & Bellot makes current manufacture ammo and it is pretty decent. J&S Sales, Ammunitionstore.com and ammoman.com usually have it.
FAC has 9x19 barrels that essentially drop in, and allow you to fire 9x19 ammo. Most of the time the 124 grain round nose 9mm will feed through the mag and the pistol despite being significantly shorter than the 7.62x25.
IF you get a 9x19 barrel, go to Makarov.com and invest in a pair of Harrington locking rollers as the ones with the FAC 9mm barrel are a little soft.
ALSO, DO NOT dry fire the 52 on an empty chamber with original firing pin as they tend to be hard and brittle. Use a fired cartridge or a snap cap. Makarov.com has Harrington replacement FPs for the 52 and you are advised to get one.
HTH, and congrats on the imminent purchase!

Thanx for the welcome and the info. I will probably be waiting until after the holidays to make my purchase as money is a little tight right now but I definently want one of these guns.

Just got a CZ52 yesterday. Actually ordered it from Century on sale back in October (Exc. cond. for $109) but local bureaucracy kept me from taking it home from my local dealer until now (C&R license in these parts only good for long arms).
1953 production, it has the blue/black refinish and appears to be in as-advertised condition. Comes with a spare mag, cleaning rod, lanyard & holster, all in decent shape. Hopefully it will shoot as well as it looks. I'll take the advice here to only feed it new S&B ammo and not to dry fire.
I've also noted and will heed the advice given elsewhere not to trust the decocker feature of the safety lever (without regard to the stamped "Z" on the left side of the trigger guard that supposedly means that this feature was tested for reliability).

Thanks for the welcome Noah!
FNM also makes 7.62x25 ammo at a reasonable price.

what about getting the Romanian surplus 7.62x25 ammo listed on page seven of AIM surplus Christmas flier 1260rd can for $109.95 or 2 cans in a crate 2520rds $219.90 item# A7.62x25Rom
an above poster stated to stay away from surplus, I have always used S&B ammo, just wondering if this surplus is too hot of ammo?

There is nothing wrong with milsurp, its just corrosive. So you have to clean as soon as you get through shooting.
