I have a question:
Where the safety selector switch goes out the L/H side of the receiever, there's a lot of slop there on the selector switch. I'd guess about 0.020-0.030 worth of play.
I can't tell if it's the hole in the reciever being worn or if it's the switch itself.
If in fact it turns out to be the reciever, is there a fix for this or is the receiver shot?
I'd thought about making a bushing to go in there but this can't be the only AR to have this problem so there has to be someone out there that knows a fix or a smith that can do a fix.
The rifle still functions fine but your finger catches the switch & works it fwd ever so slightly (due to the slop, it doesn't have a whole lot of spring detent action left) & keeps you from getting off a shot.
You have to back off & push the switch back with your finger a little bit, not a good thing to have to do at random intervals.
The lower is an Olympic arms, A2 if I have it right (it has the L/H brass deflector on it).
