I'm thinking of keeping it mostly BMF, and my goal is to make a lightweight 16" carbine for ease of carry with short range usage intended. I like the Superlight barrel, but I cannot use a flash hider, and they do not put any of their brakes on barrel that small in diameter. Does anyone know of any alternatives? Damn, I would be one happy camper without that 94 ban. Maybe I should sell it and buy a Professsional Ordinance carbon 15.

Dynasystems will custom make brakes per your specs:

I have a held a PO Carbon 15, and it is really light compared to my 16 inch CAR. You can buy a Fluted SS barrel from Model1 that might meet your needs.

Kurt @ Kurt's Kustom Firearms (http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=541) makes brakes for LW barrels and he does awesome work. He's also a board supporter!

Oclvtrek stole my thunder. I'll second a nod towards Kurt.

Have you considered the poly Cavalry Arms unit? Other than that ugly pistol grip it looks like it would be pretty light weight. As a bonus you can get it in a color other than black.

Dynasystems and KKF both look like they have some potential.
droog, is the Calvary Arms unit the poly lower and stock? It sounds interesting and a good bargain but I already have the Bushmaster lower to build. Nor do I know a whole lot about it.
I'm still very tempted to just get a type 97S and save a bit of hassle, but I want to build one AR first.

Alright, I think I'll get the Bushy 16" Superlight, have it cut down to 14.5" and have the New Limiter installed to bring it back out to 16". Damn, I think that would look sharp. Thank you kindly:D
