What is a fair price on the Tantal kits? I've been wanting one and found one for 310.00 shipped....good deal or bad deal?
Thanks all
I got mine about a year ago when Global was selling them.
They were $229.99 and $20 extra for hand select. I paid $250 shipped. Some of those had chrome flaking off the chamber. So check that out first. At that price it is probably one of Global's kits. The other kits I have seen have been around $600. Sam

there was a tatal kit on that swhatsthename board for like $325 or so...
Yeah it is a good deal.
You WILL NOT see tatal kits being sold ANYMORE.
I checked with my polish contacts and there are NONE in poland any more.
What sucks is that in POLAND you can not own a machine gun kit, machine gun barrels, bolts, bolt carriers, and other machine gun specific parts.
There are a couple Tantal kits in Poland but they were brought back in from the CZECH republic.
I am trying to find some contacts in CZECH now...

Thanks, good to know. I am waiting for the seller to contact me and give me the run down on the bore and overall condition of the kit...

I've got one in virgin condition, demilled as it were, but looks like it never left the armory.
Came with the Polish night sights on it as well (front and rear ones, and they work!).
Was gonna sell it someday, but since the sources have dried up now, don't know if I want to do that as yet.

Sitting on a shelf in pieces is no way for an AK to go thru life son. Sell it or build it!:D

How can it be a '64 or '67 Tantal kit?
The 5.45x39 round wasn't adopted by the USSR until 1974.
The Tantal is the wz 88, which I thought meant that it was adopted in 1988.
