I have'nt fired an AR since the 60's because I thought that I did not like them. My son convinced me to order at least one so the "Plinker" seemed the way to go. With the warranty I figured I could'nt miss. It looked pretty nice and all the parts fit really well so I decided to shoot it myself. I was right about the "could'nt miss" statement. I am a little shaky now and I don't see quite as well as I used to and not one of the first 10 rounds was out of the 9 ring. 3 bulls. WOW. For me this was incredible. I wish that I had broken in the barrel now. I will, however, on the PCR16 that is on it's way. I like the idea of the.243mag barrel too. A new convert.:)

If its chrome lined dont worry about breaking it in. It takes over 400 round to break in chrome, and if you clean it within that time you just gotta start over. Congrads on the new toy. HAVE FUN.

I have had my eye on one of those, but cannot figure out why it is priced so cheap, seems to good to be true. Do you guys have any info on why these are around $200 cheaper than most other AR's?

Glad to hear that you are happy with yours!!!

Olympic does not chrome their barrels and that suits me just fine.
Oly uses A-1 sights and a cast receiver and a cast upper. Investment cast pieces require little or no machine work. Read that as expensive manual labor. When properly done, castings are quite strong and durable. They carry a Lifetime warranty. After 360 rounds of various manufacturers I am still quite happy with my purchace and will be recomending them to my customers.
