Model 1918 Swiss K31 Bayo

I think I got one in about the same condition Buster Charlie reported. Looks like the chrome plating is chipped off here and there on the handle. Actually in quite a few spots. The handle wood looks very good. The blade has a small chip off one edge and is somewhat tarnished. Also some fine rust on it. This should clean off for the most part with some oiled steel wool though. The scabbard looks good with a fair amount of bluing intact. No dings or dents despite the fact that the end of it was sticking out of the shipping box.:rolleyes: The leather is well used, but still looks pretty good.

Not as nice as I would have hoped to see, but for the price I'd still say it's a good deal.

Mine was sticking out of the box also. However my driveway has been iced up & the BBT can't make it to the door, so the box was dropped off at the pharmacy around the corner (it's nice living in a small town ;) ). When I finally made it up there the next day they were still playing with this box with a hole in it trying to figure out what this metal thing with a ball on the end was that kept poking out :D .

Overall mine seemed to be in good shape, no rust, chrome mostly intact, leather in decent shape. Worth the price paid although I'm not going to order more to outfit the other K31s that I have.
