Looks like the 6.8 could be in the wind for the M96. I believe this to be one very fine round. I think the 7.62x39 is on the back burner and probably with the military looking at the 6.8 Alex is doing the R&D for his military line. Hopefully we will see one introduced for the civilian market M96. I understand that uppers for AR's have already been produced and future looks good for shooting enthuisist to own this caliber soon.

Hmmmm. Hearing a lot about this caliber! So what is the big deal here? Is it better?

This caliber is considered to have many favorable characteristics that the 5.56, 5.45, 7.26x39 rounds may lack. See the attached thread for discussion.

The 6.8 makes all those rounds look like crap, and nearly matches the 7.62 Nato. Problem is that it isnt viable on the civi market since ammo is near impossible to find and is expencive as hell.
