Bushmaster's New BAR-.308

Has anyone read a review or seen one of the new Bushmaster .308s. Seems pretty interesting to me. Uses FAL magazines.

Intresting. Wonder if their lower is compatible with the Armalite and Eagle arms uppers. Wouldn't mind having a BAR-10 lower married to an AR-10T SS upper. Particularly with the plethora of cheap 20 round mags avaliable.

Compatability?

My guess is probably not. I've got a DPMS .308 panther, and it is not compatable with Armalite's AR10, because of design patent infringements... they had to be slightly different or so they told me.

I dont know why AR15's can all be the same, but the DPMS rep told me that the AR10's had to be "proprietary"....

Too bad for me, the only mags I've found that work in my DPMS are the SR25 mags and they cost like $100 bucks or more a piece!

I'd love to be able to use cheap converted M14 mags!

I think the patents on the AR15 ran out a while ago, but since Armalite's AR-10 was introduced less than 10 years ago, they are still in effect.

The GunBlast guys are supposed to do a review on the BAR-10. I sent them an email about it and they replied that they had one on order from Bushmaster. That was about 6 weeks ago I guess.
