It would only be possible in a bolt-action or side magazine feed, due to the cartridge length and AR magwell size.

You can get similar ballistics in a .458 socom upper conversion, which will fit into the magwell. A 30rd AR mag becomes a 14-rd single stack .458 socom mag.

Thanks for the info. The reason I asked about the 45-70 is that I've already got a Marlin 1895. I've got enough different reloading dies already. :D
