How much does the presense (or lack of same) of the mum affect the price/value of a wartime Japanese rifle?

Main reason I ask is a friend of mine has one, with intact mum, and I'm trying to give him a "fair" estimate of its value, either as a collectible or just as a shooter.

I was thinking about offering him $200 for it as soon as I have that kind of money available. It appears to be in very good condition, but it is missing the bayonet, cleaning rod, sling, and whatever other accessories it is supposed to have. It also has a big chunk of wood gouged out of the lower handguard, possibly a bullet wound (though there is no documention verifying it as such).

I'm not sure exactly what type/model it is.

Sorry if this has been asked before.

$200 is too high IMO for the condition described even with an intact Mum if it is a Type 99. Really need to know which type rifle it is though. My price guide deducts 30% off retail price for a ground mum.
