Just when you thought there was no such thing as a STUPID question...

I initially read great reviews of this stuff with regards to use in dry, sandy areas. I was in the midst of trying to find a relatively cheap (and "in stock") source so I could include some in care packages to the middle east. I've used CLP in sandy, dry, dusty conditions and know how it turns an M16 into a sexy lamp base in no time flat. At first, I heard this stuff was wiz-bang, but I've heard mixed reviews as of late. What's the real skinny on it???

Personally, I've found that tetra lube in VERY small and CONTROLLED amounts applied to strategic areas of the AR/M16 is best where I shoot, but I ain't in Iraq/Afghannyland. Any advise/polite admonishment would be appreciated, and again, pardon my ignorance and likely outdated input.
