I'm trying to collect as much info on the krinkov rifles as i can. Even since i first saw them i've wanted one so bad. I understand their pretty rare and very very expensive. I don't know anyone that can help me...and i can't find much of anything on them online. I would like to know how much they're going for...and where i would be able to locate one. I have seen some kits at a web site hosted by AK-47.net. Could anyone tell me if it's cheaper to have one built...and where to find the stamped recievers? I need alot of help...any info you could give me on them would be very usful.
Thanks,
James

Nimitz,
K-var has krinkov kits (brand new matched parts BTW) for $699. I think new recievers are about $100 give or take, and Mike @MSC get $200 to assemble. A NFA tax stamp of $200 would also be required, along with all the other misc. ATF paperwork; and you also need enough US parts to qualify for the pistol grip stock (maybe $100). This will get you a Krinkov copy for about $1300 including the federal tax.
The only major concession would be that the stock would have to be fixed (post ban receiver), but at a savings of $1400 it's a concession you may be willing to make. HTH

I think you'll need a pre-ban receiver (once a post always a post) to starat with. Once it's been registered and modified it makes no difference about folding stocks, us parts, etc. I was the lucky one that purchased the one Krinkov had for sale and it IS a thing of beauty.

According to the BATF, an NFA weapon must still conform to all the previous weapons bans. Your pre-ban receiver allows the folding stock, and all import parts. By using a pre-ban to start with, your gun's creator allowed for an exact duplicate in semi only. The way I was talking about saves money, but you do lose the folding stock.
Of coarse, once you have the paperwork, it is doubtful that anyone would check the date of manufacture of the receiver if any questions came up. Just my .02

Hey Nimitz, CVN buddy
Try D&R Arms in portsmouth, since your in newport news, its close, and they can get a hold of anything you want. They pretty much specialize in assault rifles, Look in the hampton yellow pages.

Saleen, I think you are wrong on this, once the gun is registered as an SBR, it's exempt from all the preban/postban nonsense.

If you are using a post ban receiver to build a registered SBR. You are exempt from the 89 ban. So you don't need to use USA parts. But the 94 ban does apply. Because its a "semiautomatic", you can have only one evil feature. Like a pistolgrip. Folder must be fixed in the open or closed position.
crazy I know.
