Is it true that if a person purchases a 14.5" AR upper it demonstrates intent to illegaly build a SBR?

The lady at Model-1 Sales said they would not sell one to me without going through the paperwork and getting the tax-stamp authorizing the ownership of a SBR.

My "intent" was to buy the 14.5 and have a KKF A2 TakBrake in a lengthened 'A3' version permanently attached to bring the barrel length out to a full 16".

She said the only way they'd sell it to me is if I sent them the brake and they attached it prior to delivery...and only if it was a BATF approved brake.

Additionaly, I was going to get the postban front sight in lieu of the pre-ban...just so I would not be tempted to bayonet anyone.

At any rate, my objective is to build an AR as close to the M4 config as possible...and to keep the OAL as short as legally possible.

Hmmmmm, check with other manufactures and see what they say, then call Model-1 back and tell them...

In any case, here's what you want on a 14.5" after the sunset. Screw the Vortex or Phantom, get Kurt's 1.5" A3 Milspec!!!!

OH YEAH! That's what I'm talking about.

I'll still have to permanently attach it after the sunset though....makes getting the front sight post off somewhat inconvenient too.

Will we be able to have collapsable stocks as well?

Oh Yeah!!!

I'm going to send my upper to him the beginning of September to have a new front sight post and that bad boy above permanently attached. Notice the interior is conical, so it really has great flash reducing capabilities, while bringing her out to 16"...

He blind pins them, so while they are permanent, they can still be removed later if need be.

A year later I can give you an answer: :bull:

I walked up to their table and bought one, complete with A2 FH last month. MO for a KKF A3 should be going out tomorrow or Monday.

Well that should make us all that more vigilant to never allow it to happen again.
