Yes, its another "favorite" thread! What pattern or patterns do you like the best, not necessarily for their great effectiveness, but the one you just plain like.
I have to say VSR is one of my faves, and believe it or not, I love the ld duckhunter camo used by Marines in WWII and by advisors and spec ops in vietnam. Something classic about it.:)
You?

Yeah that old Marine "Pacific" pattern is cool.
I learned to become fond of US Woodland though...:D

Czech vzor95 camo is quite effective in our neck of woods, might be even better than our m91 camo. New Finnish 'digi-camo' looks pretty good but haven't seen it IRL yet.
Here's a pic of our new camo BDU:

I see you also appreciate the artwork on the Fujimi 1/72 scale MiG-21 kit. That box art you have on your page is really nice, it was one of the many versions of that awesome kit. I've built at least 10 of them, its one of my all time favorite scale models to build.

I am partial to the German Flectar as well as the Danish green Flectar. But I think the most effective camoflage in my part of the world would have to be the British/Dutch DPM pattern.
Cheers,

Vitiaz! Dude! That stuff looks like Waffen SS oak leaf! I gotta GET me some of that, do you have a source?
My favorite.....ummmm.....geez.
I really like the old Waffen SS patterns. I also like Tiger Stripe. And British DPM. German Flectarn. Swiss Leibemuster (Alpenflage, or Mountain Vomit if you prefer.)
As a former re-enactor, I can vouch for the effectiveness of SS Eichenlaub (Oakleaf) pattern. I've almost stepped on people wearing it.
Best compromise: Tigerstripe. Breaks up the outline even at a distance.
Best up close? Ghillie suit, of course.
Most unlikely to work but does? Swiss, especially in the mountains.
Worst? I think thats the subjecy of another post!

It sure does, doesn't it...kinda weird the Russkies would produce a SS-like pattern.
>do you have a source?
These guys have it listed,

There is a winter version(brown) and a summer version(green). The pics of the summer suit show a version that looks like a 'digitzed' oak leaf,

You know the Mitchell "leaf" pattern helmet covers we used in Vietnam? I once saw a whole uniform set of that stuff. I thought it looked awesome, been my favorite ever since.

There was a theatre made BDU jacket in the Mitchell pattern on ebay a few weeks ago, went for around $80. I was in until around $40. Most of that stuff was made from shelter halves, since the US only issued Mitchell on those and helmet covers, so far as I've ever read.

Ah, so there is more than one set in existence! I saw the same thing you did on ebay like half a year ago, went for roughly the same price. I was mainly interested because I put together a complete, re-enactor style Vietnam War uniform last summer, but I didn't know how much (if at all) these were used in the war.

I collect Russian and Polish Uniforms and field gear. The following are my all time and all around favorites...
1. Russian patterns... VSR, Kamysh, Berezka, and Flora.
2. Polish patterns... Pantera and Puma.
Picking just one pattern would be tough...

Here (http://www.gunboards.com/militaria/uploaded/Alec/2003921145929_Mitchell%20Tan.JPG) is a jacket made from that Mitchell pattern. This guy bought it for $15! Not bad, I've seen the helmet covers going for over $100.

Which one? The original WWII leaf one, the sunshine rays green and cream pattern, the Berezka color variant of sunshine rays, or the new funky and really cool reed stuff? I like 'em all, and though they aren't really digital, its cool.
