I'm partial to the Soviet Woodland pattern (currently the Ukranian woodland pattern). It is different than the U.S. woodland. The VSR isn't bad either.
This is the woodland:

I have several sets of both available. If interested, PM.

The two most widely used patterns in the Russian forces now are Flora and VSR. Special forces use these two as well as Tigr (same as Kamysh), Les, Shadow, Gorod, Reed and some others.
If you want to get him to get a BDU that regular forces use - go for Flora or VSR. If you want a higher quality BDU with a special forces flavour - Tigr (Kamysh), Shadow, Gorod or Reed may be a better choice.
You can find the biggest selection of Russian BDU's in North America here: www.russiancombatgear.com They have pictures and description of every model and pattern there too.

I was trying not to fall asleep. MTK is a fascinating man, but when he talks for more than an hour in a language you aren't fluent in...
I just felt like 10,000 Russian soldiers were watching me. I don't know why, I just had this feeling, ya know? Haven't had it since, though.
