Got some interesting mags many years back- one type is a Thermold 30rd _Blank_ magazine that has an orange body. IIRC, you could buy them real cheap - about $4 I think - and they were "modifiable" to allow use of regular ammo (they were made in '86 so it was legal :D !). I got a bunch of them and modded them - but did keep one "stock" for collection purposes! Painted the body that sticks out of the lower flat black and they seem to work pretty good! Just wondering if anyone else did this?

Welcome to the board, Rocks!
I have seen these orange polymer mags but never really bothered with them much. If they work, great.

I've also seen thermolds that hold 45 rounds... they're a little longer than the 30's, their original intent wasnt more ammo, but storage and spring life...
Supposedly, only put 30 in when the mag is extended, when ready to use, you collaspse it a couple inches and the spring tension increases for reliable feeding, yet while expanded there was less compression on the spring.
Anyway, the mags fired and fed reliably when loaded with 45:)
