Can anyone tell me what kinda of bag this is on this motorcycle?

I think its some kind of military bag, the guy that owns this bike turned it into a brake light holder. Also the bike is from the netherlands so maybe the bag is too. Also it looks like its plastic so maybe that will help in identifying it.

Thanks

:)

Looks like the rubberizes French bags. I have a musette bag that looks like it, but my bag won't open up as wide as that but there would be plenty of material to make that bag out of it. They also have backpacks in the same rubberized material. That could be it?

i was thinking east german. are those straps grey? they have (had) several types of pouches and bags that were olive drab outside and a light grey inside with grey nylon straps...

its hard to tell if they are grey.

I just really like the motorcycle and the europeans are doing some really sweet things with harley's, especially shovelheads (what I got). I just get sick of hearign west coast this, orange county that, discovery channel this........dont get me wrong it just gets to be a bit much when the bikes they are building are out of the price range of the average person.

I thought the military bag on one side looked really nice and I thought I might be a copycat one day.:D

several of the surplus dealer links in the sticky at the top of this forum have the bags I was talking about, but they would need lots of mods. If anything they would be a good starting point. Don't overlook Cheaperthandirt and Sportman's Guide, they have a suprising range of surplus too.

hey you guys : the bag /pack your taking about is in fact a dutch army rubberized large pack..its a pattern that dates back to ww2 british p-37 web gear..their is also a small pack that comes with the set..and a set of seperate shoulder straps and buckles for use with both packs ..as i said before the rubberized packs are updated from the canvas ww2 types still seen in use by the dutch army as late as the 1990s...you see after ww2 the dutch got lots and lots of military gear from britian ...and they continued to use and update that type of webgear until they went to a combat vest ...and now we see alot of that gear for sale at the surplus store for only a few dollars...vince g.

Yup
that bag is totally dutch, I used to work at an army surplus store and we sold several of those and other dutch rubberized gear items. Most was copied from british and also american gear. Dutch canteen covers looks like the old ww2 type only in that rubberized greenish grey material, they even have the ww2 type hanger on the back, as for the pouch I think we sold them for about $8
