CZ-52 Range report,
Well it seemed that the old gun store had 4 more CZ-52's after all. I picked out a nice one graded "CAI" "Very good", that was in great shape, and it had the best barrel of the lot, very nice, used but still sharp rifling. It was probably the second to nicest looking, only because the rear site was over far to one side. looked like a drop injury to me.
I got it home, cleaned it, thanks to NRAJOE's post, that link had great instructions, and it's one easy to break down pistol.
I got 1 box of Winchester, and 2 boxes of Chinese ammo, they had Romanian ammo loaded on stripper clips, but I didn't try that.
After a first magazine it was time to move the rear site back to the original "stake" mark, two whops with the brass punch and mallet, and she was back to center, and shot exactly in the center of the target. I "re-staked" the sight, and had the best groups with the Winchester, but the Chinese wasn't too bad either. I'm shooting a little low, but once I figured it out I can put 5-6 of 8 rounds into the 3" center of my Midway free printer targets at 25 feet without much effort. You guys did me right, this thing shoot's well. It is perhaps a bit long (front to back) in the grip, but comfortable, and it feels good in my hand. I'm very pleased, and also wanted to thank all that replied to my previous post for steering me in the direction of this great pistol. :D :) :D
