5" group at ~75 yards with a Ruger MKII 512 pistol and Federal "Lightning" ammo :D

It was only 3 shots though.

Depends on which gun I'm shooting. My Remington 513T loves Wolf Match Target, but my BRNO #1 prefers Ely. My Single Six doesn't seem to care much, but it doens't group anything too awful tight. Minute of Tin Can is good enough for it I guess.

I haven't found 1 ammo that does consistently good in all my rimfires. I have about 30 differrent types and brands of ammo that I'm always shooting. I finally found a way to keep everything organized though. I keep an index card for each rimfire (and my C&R's) to keep track of what ammo shoots best. I also have other info such as when it was last cleaned completely (I always do a quick cleaning after shooting though) and other stuff.

Alas, you'll just have to buy small quanities of many different ammo's and find the one your gun likes best.

That pretty much is the best advice I have heard on ammo selection.

Agreed.

Your new to .22lR....u mean your new to guns. How the PHUCK can you be new to .22lr....lol.

Seriously though,

Cetain rifles and Hanguns will give you better groups with different ammo but their is plenty of Ammo that stands out from the crowd. My favorite .22lr for serious Target shooting is REmington Match Grade...it can be pricey but it's serious .22lr. I've heard great things about Wolf Match grade and Match Extra but I haven't tried any yet. If your looking for great Bulk ammo I'd definitley check out the Winchester DynaPoint HP's...kick ass bulk ammo for $10.00 for 500.
