I took my A2 butt stock off my post ban Colt. I don't see anyway to use the spanner wrench to get the tube off. Is it used on post ban Colts? I know Colt dose some different things with their rifles. I see two flat spots on the end of the tube for a wrench possibly. I'm think I could get a strap wrench and twist the tube off. Is it CCW?

thought the spanner wrench was for CAR/M4 variant stocks with the locking nut.... A2 stocks just unscrew.. slide off.. and the tube twists off
careful of the rear takedown detent spring, and the buffer retainer/spring.. cus those will fly out when you unscrew the buffer tube

If I put a telescopic butt stock on it will I need the spanner wrench? Is the telescopic same as M4, Car?

yes to both.. (if you're using a traditional style stock).. not sure how the ACE stocks, or magpuls.. etc attach.. but for a traditional CAR stock, or the improved Ribbed CAR stock(M4 stock).. they use the locking nut which can be tightened using the spanner wrench.
collapsable(telescopic) and non-collapsable mount using the same hardware.. only difference is usually the length of the buffer tube and buffer spring
