Type 99 is more available and are the least expensive for the most part. To get a good price on one check your local gunshop or gunshow. My local gunshop sells a Type 99 for 150.00 bucks, on average.
You won't see any Jap rifles from AIM as none are being imported. The gun auctions are high, but once in awhile you can get a deal.

Very good question Jason. From what i was told the last time they were imported was in the 1960's. I don't know what is left to import? Meaning a large enough supply.Sorry i can't give you a direct answer.
I did read on another board that what rifles not brought stateside as war souvineers by returning soldiers, were dumped into Tokyo Bay.

1. Yep just like after Prohibition guns collected and dumped in the New York Harbour, so to most small arms were dumped in the Tokyo Bay. What a waste.:(
