Looking at buying my first AR Variant. I want an M4 and the Bushmaster is $200 & change less than the COLT.

Money well saved? :dunno:

Here's a target that I just shot yesterday with my Bush XM15 E2S (like a Colt HBAR):

That's with Century's Hot Shot SS109 ammo and a cheap Leapers 4x20 scope mounted. 100 yards from the bench.

The rifle functions flawlessly and I've experienced no breakage or other problems with her.

It also has the "push pin" which allows for quick break-down for field strip.

The only "glitch" that I've run into with this rifle is that it didn't like some Israeli plastic mags that I bought (wouldn't lock into the mag well) and I had to relieve the mag catch notch a little on them - now they work great. All other mags work fine in my experience.

Most people that I've talked to have the opinion that the Colt guns are over-priced.

The Bushmaster is a great rifle, unless you want to pay the extra $200 for the name. That $200 would buy a lot of ammo. I have a couple of Bushies and can't say enough good things about them.

Thanks for the input. If I get an M4, I might be able to put on a "real" collapsable stock after Sept!!!!!!:rockin:

That's what I'm talkin 'bout! :D

Another nice thing about Bushmaster is that they offer gunsmithing/custom work on their guns.

After September, they will thread the muzzle for you, replace the front sight base with one that has bayo lugs, etc...

BTW, TAPCO has a 4 position collapsible CAR stock for $29! This is the best price I've seen on these.

A friend of mine got a colt about 6 m. prior to me gettting an Armalite. He wishes he would have gotten anything other than the colt every time he shoots it.

(jams like crazy)

Get the bushmaster, unless saving a few bucks will be worth the stress of a non functioning gun.
