Just thought I'd check in.
Yes I purchased my first CZ52 at the gun show today. I bought it to keep the Bulgy Mak from getting lonely.
It's all cleaned up and ready to go. When I get to the range I'll post a report.

Did you get a black one or a grey one?

I would say it's black. They had a light grey or two in the crake and a couple of blued ones. Mine is almost black and a phosphate looking finish.

Black is rearsenal...gray is original. Both good.

Did you get it at the Harrisburg show? I couldn't make that show so a friend of mine picked me up one from there. From Eagle Sports, the guys with the crated milsurps right?
I was eyeing them up at the Allentown and Phila Armory show, but I bought a left-over Bulgie Mak from them for $119 :D
That's my second CZ-52, black parkerized, prefect condition (my buddy really cherry-picked this one!). My first one I bought from AIM last month....see, 2 in 2 months, yes they are terrific & addictive, best of all CHEAP!!!
Have fun with your purchase ;)

Warhogg,
Yes, I purchased the CZ52 from Eagle Sports at Harrisburg. I also bought my "Bulgy" Mak from Eagle at the last Harrisburg show.
The CZ would be perfect except for some damage to the finish on the frame under the barrel. I did not notice it until I got home and cleaned some gunk of the bottom. Still very nice, the Mak too.

Yes, my Bulgie Makarov looked like it was dropped on pavement, hence the $119 price tag and last one on the table. I had to buy it since now I don't care about any wear on the gun. You see, I bought an unissued Bulgarian in December and I can't bring myself to "de-virginize" it!!
As for the CZ-52, I bought my first from AIM which was advertised as unissued. What I got was a refurbished one with the "VOZ" factory refurb stamp! AIM re-imbursed me the difference in price, but I missed out on the unissued ones since they sold out.
So that's how I came about Eagle Sports - they have crates of 'em at the shows!!! My eyes just glaze over with obsession when I get to thier table! Gives you the ability to cherry-pick. The slight wear on yours (and mine) probably is just from all the guns being crated together, bobbled around in shipping & handling.
These are truly great deals, as all the previous ones from the past 10 years I've seen them have all been used and/or refinished. Really, this makes the 4th & 5th CZ purchase - the last three I sold way back when, because I had worn old CZ-52's with issues.
Enjoy the fireball they spout!

They're good pistols...I have two right now and one is my daily carry weapon even though I have more prestigious arms in my safe. The CZ-52 is cheap in case it's stolen in spite of all of my efforts to properly secure it. The CZ shoots wonderfully for me off-hand at 25 yards and to point of aim at that(From the bench it shoots low and left for me). With so many bad guys now wearing body armor, it comforts me to know that I have penetration on the same level as my .44 magnum with little recoil. The only downside seems to be a perceived lack of stopping power when one uses ball ammo.Still,I believe the round it fires and it's ability to penetrate hard targets makes it worthwhile. Do you guys remember the much vaunted Automag in .30 carbine? I consider my CZ-52 my "poor mans automag";)

:handgun:
You should've seen my cop brother's face when I told him the CZ's would zip right through a bulletproof vest! He said he hopes the bad guys don't catch on to that!
I'm with you Powerkicker, I too have better guns in the safe but my SAR-1 is my trunk gun, my new "scratch & dent Mak is my summer CCW, and the CZ-52 is the glove box gun. I don't mind abusing any of them, and if stolen, it won't break the bank.
