Just picked this one up at the gunshow. It is from the (Koishikawa, Tokyo) Arsenal, with the S barrel proof test code.Take note the safety is a late issue, as it has the notch and not the large tang, this rifle should have.

The bolt has no legible number and the firing pin is unumbered.Rifle has mum and original cleaning rod.Included is a pic of my Type 38's.

How does the safety work on your late war rifle?

zouave, the bolt and saftey are late issue and they work just fine. The rifle is early production. Which gives me reason to make a thread on Type 38 bolts and safteys.;)
