This is not a listing for a sale that should be in the WTS forum.
My brother was an avid camo collector and even ran a business selling the stuff. He died last year and I am executor of his estate. I have dragged my feet cataloging and getting ready to sell his stuff but I have to sell it to fund some of his bequests.
I know about guns but relatively little about camo. I have records about the value of some of his pieces like a WWII SS camo smock. I have no clue about others.
Can I ask somebody what something is worth?

Sorry to be so late on the reply. You should be able to get a decent reply by posting here what tems you have, some of us know only certain areas of camo. Post what you have and we'll take a shot at it.:)

Thanks Ezra. When we finish cataloging things the list will be long. There were something like 1500 items.
I'll post a few pics of the stuff at the top of the pile.
I only wish they could be as artistic as yours.....

I read that these are rare. Personnel rotating out of the unit have their BDU's destroyed. It is also illegal for an individual in the Phillipines to own one.
Does anyone have an idea what the full bdu (jacket and pants) is worth?

Dang man, that is some rare stuff. I can't effectively price any of that for you because my area is Russian and eastern European. BUT, if you joib the camocollectors Yahoo group you might get some more knowledge. If I were you, and I had that much stuff, I would get on ebay and auction it off. Even the most finicky camo collectors hit ebay and they will pay a fair price for good stuff. If it doesn't sell drop it down a bit. I have seen rare modern BDUs going for $150-200 per set if truly rare. If WWII rare, like German stuff, that can go for $400 and up. Modern (post WWII) generally doesn't fetch more than $150 for a set, most will get you about $100 per set.
If you have any Chinese stuff (red china) I am in need of a set of Chinese BDUs. I want a ton more but I have limited funds.:)

I can help you with any German Camo from WW2, I know of a forum just for that kind of stuff. Like Ezra said the German Camo WWII, is expensive. The S.S smocks and tunics,if real will fetch up in the thousands in the US.

Ezra and Gewehr43 – thanks for the info.
We started cataloging the collection in the Fall but stopped ‘temporarily.’ I’ll get on it when school finishes.
Funny you should mention it, my brother had an SS reversible smock that he bought as authentic. I'll look for Chinese stuff.

I am always interested in modern uniforms. I would be very interested in seeing the catalog and some of the pictures of the newer patterns.

f-troop, sorry to hear about your brother.
if you're interested, there's a store in old town alexandria called
"full metal jacket" and they can help you evaluate and sell your stuff (consignment). there's also george peterson at "national capitol historical sales" in springfield. he's world renowned for his knowledge and contacts.

Thanks, this helps. Coincidently, my brother used to live in Gaithersburg, MD and I vaguely remember him mentioning an appraisal from someone in Northern VA.
