Is there any other ammo on the market in 7.62 x 25 Tok other than S&B?

If so, would you please name them and where you can get them.

I read somewhere there is some dangerous subgun stuff out there, what is that called?

Any and all info is most welcome.

Comrade:

S&B is about it for the moment, but AIM has been saying that a shipment of Romanian 7.62 Tok is inbound soon. That will be corrosive surplus, but as long as you clean it correctly and right away , NBD.

The subgun stuff that is dangerous is of Bulgarian manufacture, and there's a link to a site with the 411 but I lost track of that. Somebody else may post it. IIRC, one of the numbers on the headstamp was 53.

Dan's Sporting Goods last year got in some Yugo 7.62 Tok that was pretty good stuff, but corrosive. He's long been out, but if you see anything in crates or boxes with the words "Metak" or "Metaka" (Cartridge/cartridges) that's Yugo.

Most everyone else in Eastern Europe uses the word "patron" or "patrone" for "cartridge," including the Russians.

As a rule, I do not shoot any 7.62 Tok that is sold on stripper clips, and that was typically subgun ammo. Not 100% of the time, but close enough. But that's me. There are people that shoot that 308 stuff from India, too. But not me.

Watch the boards and AIM's site for news of the arrival of the Romanian stuff.

Comrade S currently in my ammo stock I have 7.62x25mm ammo from Poland, China, Czech Republic (S&B), Czechoslovakia (miliitary), Russia,Bulgaria, and Hungary-look around there is a lot of different types out there. As Noah said if it's on strippers(especially if it has silver bullets) don't use this its "hotter" SMG ammo-also be careful with 71 round bullets boxes this is often too SMG ammo (PPsH 41 used 71 round drums) Keep a small magnet handy, a lot of surplus military 7.62x25mm is steel cored-magnet will let you know-often-but not always this is SMG ammo....

It was my understanding that the CZ52 was designed to shoot all 762x25 ammo including the sub gun stuff. The problem is the batch of ammo out there that was even too hot for subguns. I really find it hard to believe that someone carrying a CZ52 and a PPSH would carry different ammo for each.

The only thing a magnet will tell you is if the bullet jacket is steel not the core as all steel core ammo has bullet jackets made of steel.

Thanks again guys,
I have not seen anything other than S&B ammo. I looked around at the gun show and thats all anybody had. If nothing else I'll add a few more boxes of the S&B to my inventory.

Had some 7.62x25mm Czech ammo for the VZOR 45/26 smg. Stuff came in 50round box10 rounds each on strippers. The bullets were unusual in that they were all silver. Stuff is HOT-when shot in a Chinese PPsH 41 the gun ran away(not pleasant) this has never happened in this weapon before with any other(7) makes of 7.62x25mm ammo-so some 7.62x25mm is hotter then others.
