I've a few, no collector, just some I've kept over the years. Have a straight-edge that was my grandads, I've had it since he passed away in 1975,it's a "Chip A Way Cutlery Co." made in Germany. A Gerber boot knife that the folks gave to me for Christmas of 79, an Ernie Grospitch "Kansas Bowie", an Ernie Grospitch drop point, a Billy Watson drop point, misc. pocket knives, case, schrade, etc.. Been many of them over the years, just a few left. Moves and Divorces accounted for a handful!:) Glad to see this new knife and blade forum.

I started a small knife collection after moving from Hawaii to Arizona, then went to my first gun & knife show and found out how relaxed the gun laws were here, thereafter started picking up a few guns. Hawaii is not a gun-owner-friendly state. I have some knives by Kit Rae, Gil Hibben, Colt, United Cutlery, Columbia River - the majority of them that I got by bidding on e-bay.

My first knife was a small folder I bought while in college for self defense. I got it from uscav.com and learning how to use a bayonet for hand to hand combat in basic helped grow my interest in learning how to handle a knive.
My favorite that I keep put away is my Camillus boot knife. The handle is painted with the Stars and Stripes.
I also have a K-Bar that a good friend sent me among others.

gi_janearng, would like to see a picture of that Camillus boot knife. Sounds like a nice one.

Quiqley, I'm trying to find a picture on the net, but so far no luck. I actually bought it off of ebay, I just happened to run across it, looking for a the camoflauged boot knife that was also made by Camillus a few years ago.
I finally found the cammied one, wouldn't you know it, the sheath was cammied too. Both were collector's editions and were in limited supply.
If I can't find a picture on the net, I will take one and get it scanned for you.

Many thanks Gi Jane! Can't wait to see it. My Kansas Bowie is on Ernies site. Mines the second one down, has my initials RW on the handle. Ernie is a native Kansan, fixed me right up with what I wanted. Alot of them it's "get what I make", not with Ernie. His site is at www.erniesknives.com I've been eyeballing that Fairbairn-Sykes here lately. Course I'd have to have him go a different steel. Check out that knife at his site, would make a fine one for your collection.
I have several blades, from a little bitty keychain-sized Swiss Army knife to a two-handed greatsword. The greatsword actually scared off some gangbangers in the parking lot once, when I was coming home from swordfighting practice. Homies didn't expect a guy in a maille hauberk with a greatsword over his shoulder ;)
For the money though, I think the three best knives I have are my SpecPlus KABAR clone, my CRKT Kasper folder and my Cold Steel M1917 naval cutlass.

I finally found it. Apparently Amazon.com still sells them. Its called "Old Glory". I didn't know they made a multi-tool with the same pattern.

That is a nice boot knife GI Jane. Be one to give to one of your kin one day. I'll have to check out that amazon.com, thanks for your time and trouble finding that. LHS I'd like to of been there to see the look on those wannabe gangsters faces when they saw that sword :) , would've been one of those memorable moments.

Do you have a picture of that? I bet it looks awesome. My husband is into swords as much as I am.
Quiqley, I took a look at the website you posted, those are some really nice looking blades. Kinda reminds me of the old west, in their style and looks.
gi_janearng, I don't have a picture at the moment, but I bought it from Starfire (www.starfireswords.com (http://www.starfireswords.com)), it's their 1-meter broadsword. It's not edged, but then it's supposed to be a tourney sword (and I use it as such). For a good two-handed broadsword with which you could actually cleave someone, check out Cold Steel.

I go to the Starfire store at our local Ren-Fest every year, they are pretty cool.
