Someone I know :D Has a S&W auto folder that needs to be fixed. Now why will they (S&W) not fix it?
And why is it legal to carry one but not legal to buy.

i thought it was the other way around, legal to buy but illegal to carry (in most states).
they probably won't fix it cuz your friend :) wasn't an authorized buyer (s&w's authority)...

What is the matter with it, spring broken? If so go to pvknife.com and they sell auto knife coil springs and fix it yourselves. I have plenty of autos and have had to fix a couple. Sometimes you can just bend a new catch on the old spring. Good luck

The sping is not the problem. It is the frame. The hole where the screw that holds the blade is chipped off a little. It really needs a new top half. You know the part that is machined out for all the spings and things.
:(
This is why I love Arizona. I can legally buy an automatic knife at the local shopping mall (the knife store carries all the good stuff, like Benchmade and Microtech), and legally put it in my pocket and carry it with me. That makes sense to me, since I think a knife is somewhat less dangerous to the sheeple than the 1911 inside my waistband, and that's legal to carry too.

that is legal in Kentucky too.
I live so close to the borders of IN & OH that I cant hardly containe my self to find out if OH is going to let me carry there too. I can all ready carry in IN
