View Full Version : CRKT Owners?
New b 2 AKs

I have a CRKT Crawford/Kasper full size model folder that I have been carrying every day for about three years now. I have abused the hell out of it, but this knife has never failed me.
I have recently been considering another knife purchase, and was wondering if anyone here owns CRKT knives. The reason I ask is because I would like to find out if their other models are as good as the one I carry.
I have a Benchmade....But, I have not been as impressed with it, as I have with the CRKT.
Anybody own a CRKT knife? If so...Please let me know which one, and what you think of it.

I've got their Ryan 7 and Plan B. Very tough, excellent knives for carry. I'll work on posting pics after the gun show today.
I have the smaller Kasper folder. I love it! A friend of mine also has the Kasper sheath knife, and it's an excellent fighting/utility blade. I also have (and generally carry) a Benchmade Stryker, though I prefer it primarily due to sentimental reasons (graduation present). The Kasper is equally as good, but cost about half as much.

Yeah, I got a Cricket too. Don't know model designation but it's all silver & there are round holes in the handle!
I have a Crawford/Kasper also, I carry it or a CS Voyager all the time..
Both are good knives..
I bought my girlfriend one of the KISS knives, she carries it all the time as a utility folder.

I have the point guard.

I use it all the time without any problems. Some people say they dont like the way the blade release works but I do. Its easy to use with one hand to open and close.

Opens really smooth, with just a slight flick.

Got a new one. Picked this one up yesterday. Saw it at my favorite gun shop (they also just got in a shipment of SAR-1's - see my thread in Romainan Forum "NIB SAR-1's")
Any way, I picked it up, played with it a bit and had to have it.

I am now a proud owner of a CRKT M16-14 SF. I love this knife for it's size, looks, feel, a true double hilt, and the fact that it has two locks!!!

I just bought a couple of the Lightfoot M1's, and really like them. I have bought some of the M'16's, KISS, and another CRKT that I really like for hunting, but I can't remember the model. The CRKT knives are hard to beat.

I just picked up one of their Hissatsu's and I'm not real impressed with it. It was not sharp when it came out of the box and was a bitch to finally get an edge on it. Its supposed to have a satin finish on the blade and the one I got is highly polished. It also has "CHINA" on the blade. The handle and sheath are pretty much as advertised, and the sheath is like the Cold Steel sheaths, but holds the knife a little better. I'm glad I only paid $60 for it instead of the $90+ most places have it for. I'm gonna stick to my Gerber MK II.

I bought 2 of the M16 (one was a tanto and the other was a "normal") I lost both of them "sumbitch's" in less than a month. Guess my trusty Spyderco "Native" must have hid it somewhere.:)
Seemed alright but didnt seem much for "utility", more of a "tactical" blade. A little too light and didnt seem like it had a enough meat. Not that I wouldn't suggest for someone to look into buying one, I like the idea of a Double lock, and its notch for quick opening caught my eye, now if I could find the darn thing.

I picked up a M16-02Z just to give them a try, it's a good knife, the edge is really fine so it stays pretty sharp, and is easy to keep sharp. The only down side is that edge is really fine, and I put a little ding in it scraping some fine shavings for kindling, no biggie. I'd still buy another, but I'm still thinking my Spyderco is still the king.

I have one of these thanks to you, AZReloader. It wasn't sharp out of the box, but after a few passes on a fine stone, I can now shave with it.

I have their large nonserrated crawford/kasper folder, the large M16-14M, the smaller nonserrated clip point (tanto) M16-02Z and desert spearpoint M16-13ZM, and both the serrated and nonserrated Bear Claw knives
yeah, I suppose you might say I like them

Well, I HAD two bear claws. I was out in the field for convoy ops training the past fiew days and it seems like the serrated one liked it so much out there that it decided to stay. Damn shame, I hate to lose a good knife.

Good Japanese quality.

I have a couple unserrated, sabre-point M16s, one is medium Zytel and the other is small OD aluminum. Other than clip screws loosening I've not had a problem.
I gave an M16 to a close friend, and when he used it at work one day it caused quite a stir. In the space of a month, about 35 or 40 guys there managed to buy CRKT M16s. Funny.

I also carry CRKT daily.. I prefer the discontinued Apache design, it's a knife fighter design. I use the full size Apache for cool weather street carry and the mini version for dress and hot weather. CRKT is the best value in folding knives and I plan to buy more from them for my own use. Along with a Leatherman Wave or Cruch tool or a Gerber Evolution tool, a CRKT knife is always with me.

Well I own Cold steel (Recon 1) and CRKT M-16 The CRKT is the one I will continue to carry. Its faster, sharper and just feels good in my hand.
I own a few - Rollock, Mirage 3" Wharncliffe Balde, Pesh Kabz and a Deliah's Peck. Every one loves them. I carry one of them or a Cold Steel Voyager. I have bought a few for gifts including a Point Guard and M16.
Picked up a Pointguard just before Christmas after reading this thread. Very nice! Smooth, easy action and it locks up very tight. It's a little difficult to unlock the liner-lock and it takes some getting used to but I've gotten the hang of it now. Good knife at a decent price.

I've got both sizes of the now discontinued Contrail folder. They were made in Italy for CRKT, very light linerlock knives. Verrry sharp! I have a Howard Viele designed "WASP", Titanium liners, Blue/Black G-10 scales, Warncliffe AUS8 blade, shaving sharp. I just bought a "Bud Nealy Pesh-Kabz" linerlock and the new Jim Hammond "Cruiser" folder from CRKT, but they won't be here until Tuesday. I hear nothing but good about the Hammond. CRKT is supplying "Desert Cruisers" to troops in the Sandbox, and demand is very high.
All are good well made knives at a very reasonable price. Some are made in Taiwan, Japan, and Italy, others are USA, but all are well made. I have never used their warranty, but CRKT is supposed to be one of the best for customer service.
