I do not like leather sheaths for a host of reasons. The Kydex ones are okay. But I prefer the nylon (100 Denier Cordura)sheaths with the Kydex inserts.
Spec Ops Brand has a new line out, this one particular is the Survival Sheath. Thinking about getting one.

Gotta stress that my days for 'tactical" anything are long over, but that sheath looks good.
My own favorite, due to my fondness for swedish, norwegian and finnish knives. I've come to hate guards on knives. I've really learned to appreciate the free swinging pouch type, nordic style. They're usually leather with bone, wood or plastic liners. And they are much more durable than they look
Would love to be able to buy sheaths in that stlye with kydex liners, and heavy nylon canvas instead of leather.
I cant forget, long ago and far away, the leather and the stitching on my issue Ka-Bar rotted to unusable in less than 2 weeks. Course it was awful hot and real wet there.

I really like the leather sheath my cold steel bush master came with. But the sheath you posted looks cool.

I have seen some their military knives/ bayonets and I must say am very impressed.
No surprise to me though, the Sako Model 95 is my favorite Assault Rifle, in those harsh conditions, those people really know how to make weapons.

Yeah things grow on you. 2 of the most accurate rifles I own are m-39, finn's (reworked MN's for any one who doesn't know) Bought them in order to be able to afford something by SAKO. Love them.
Then I had to get a puuko, then I found a leuko, had to have more, martinis, jarvenpaas, Roselli, etc. Then the swedes Erikksson and Mora's. (I defy any one to spend the 10 or 12 bucks for a Mora and not find it one of their 2 or 3 favorite and most used knives, crappy plastic sheath and all). In fairness, over there if you are old enough to have a knife without a guard, you are expected to make your own decent sheath. Kind of a maturity milepost for boys. Knives with guards are for children and for export.
Then Helle from Norway, which I also love even if my ex-wife was full blooded Norski, and I do not love her. But those knives are fantastic.
BTW, if anyone reads this who is even the tiniest bit irish or welsh, or heaven forbid both, do not marry a norwegian, You have been warned!

I have one made by BlackHawk Industries. Its similiar to the one you have pictured and has a pocket for your sharpening stone. I have it attached to my flack jacket with my k-bar in it. Its been some time since I bought it, so I don't remember how much I paid for it, so you might want to compare prices. Its very versatile and you can have it attached anywhere your heart desires.

Very nice HDR. Simple, straight to the point (haha)....looks like it can do the job.
And that's all the matters in a good edge, eh? ;)
Mine is issue, so it has the Finnish lion on the sheath..

gi_janearng :
I too have the Blackhawk sheath, I like it alot. I also keep my Ka-Bar in it. I want the Spec-Op Brand sheath for another knife that I want to get.
hardcorps1775 :
I have read somewhere (not their site and can't remeber where) that it will fit blades 7" to 9". I myself want to find out for sure so I can order my new knife, it is available in 7" and or 9".

That's a Randall sheath, but that doesn't look like a Randall knife. Looks a lot like a Chris Reeve, actually.

HDR
Your first pic!
Neat!
I think it was Tactical knives that had an article on it a couple of years ago. Nice little story about the knife and the designer, and a limited sorta test, IIRC. Basically a long bladed Puuko, 'course so are their bayonets. or were anyhow.
Been on my wish list ever since, couldn't find one in the U.S. then, must be imported by now. I guess, I hope. I'll have to look around.
Solves a serious problem too, unlike the standard Puuko, the blade on yours WILL reach to the bottom of the peanut butter jar.
Thats important to me!

Knife in Finnish is puukko, with double k ;)
HDR, did you see the pic of 'new' sissi puukko? The one with thermoplast sheath. Will 'test' it soon. :D

You are correct.
Chris Reeve MK-IV in a Randall leather sheath.
UF,
Yup I saw it...
You can tell your CO, I will test it also.. From cleaning fish to digging splinters.. ;)

The knife is a French Foreign Legion issue fighting knife. Its made from a WWI bayonet. Blade is a little over 7" and .3" thick, so it can be anything from a fighter to a small crowbar..
