Anyone seen one of these up close. They look pretty cool. Might need to add one to the collection

Looks nice, azreloader, but for that price you could get two SpecPlus KABAR clones.

Here I was about to spout off about those $%^& serrations at the base of the blade. Right where you can bring some power and control to bear.

Fortunately I looked at the smokey link. OOOH! a plain blade, that's more like it! didn't know they made them that way!

Hmmm, cut the top guard . almost as far down as the one I use most, easy enough to fix with a file. don't even need the sander or the grinder.

Probably still have to drill a hole for a thong in the pommel, can not possibly be as tough to do as the issue ones are.

And a sheath that won't rot out on you after a mere 2 weeks in a monsoon!

Yup. gotta have one of them. Waiting for Eknifeworks to get in a couple out of stock items, and I'll just add that to my order. Of course if I never post again it's because my wife went and kilt me! 8-)

why don't you like serrations? i'm not really keen on saw backs (chopping is much faster) but serrations come in very handy a lot of times, i've found.

I don't hate serrations per se, my edc seat belt escape device is fully serrated, (spyderco delica) but I really don't like them at the base of the blade., especially on an only or main use knife.

They are great for cutting fabric (rope, seat belts, canvas etc), or cardboard or anything fiberous. But try to peel a fruit or vegatable, or make a fuzz stick to start a fire or peel piece of fruit or a vegetable, closer controlled work, and the serrations are just in the wrong place. Admit that they keep a usable edge w/o resharpening better than probably anything else.Just one guys opinion, YMMV.
