I can throw anything with a blade pretty effectively, I was so excited when I learned how to thow a Kukuri, and it makes sense, cause the thing is shaped like a boomerang.
I also throw a Hibben axe, and my folders, and all my fixed edges, but I have not tried a sword yet.;)

I throw 180 grain and 55 grain bullets, no blades. can't help you if it's not in your sheath or in your hand.

tomahawks are fun! So are used old hickory 7" butcher knives you buy for $1 or so at yardsales and fleas markets. Handle heavy, so you throw accordingly.

Used to throw a lot, but it got boring, or I just got tired of it, so I quit.

Anything with wooden scales, your'e going to break a lot of scales. Tomahawks, buy spare handles, lots of spare handles, hickory seems best, but you'll break them too.

It was fun though!

Almost forgot, E-Tools, cold steel, German, russian and even the real old Swiss ones. Very underated and poorly understood as a weapon.

You'll need spare handles for them too, if you throw them.

When I was a kid, I tried throwing knives. I broke the lock on my Spyderco Endura :( Then I figured out that shovels were the way to go, since they would stick at all angles if you sharpened them up properly and nailed a spike on the end of the handle.

I throw for fun.. And shinto187 is correct anything with an edge will throw and stick.

Those cheapie hatchets throw right well..

One of these comes out and you have a knife, its time to beat feet. But they are 100% offense, zero defense.

Hawks are very effective. HDR, we have a guy 'round here that makes hawks out of R.R. Spikes. Neat little tools.;) 8dDUCE.

I modified the blade on a craftsman hammer hatchet with some judicious filing. It sticks nicely in stumps, and pounds in tent pegs, too. :) Usually it stays in my blackpowder kit.

I learned to throw with a Ka-bar, then we found that if you take a push rod from a motor and heat the end red hot, you can beat it out to a needle point. For awhile the guard on dads Ka-bars were safe again. Later I started with hawks, and got some real throwing knives, still pratice once in awhile, and still use a Ka-bar (mine) most.;)

There are some real Vn issue Hawks floating around.

I made the mistake of throwing a hatchet infront of the grandson once... Do it again Do it again..

Now that is seriously neat.. Does he heat treat them?

That's what is so astonishing about Khukuris, they are heat treated with a charcoal fire and a tea kettle of water.. The spine is a Rockwell C 30-35, the belly is a C 40-45 and the edge is a C 55.. Pretty good for some guy in Nepal in a hut..

HDR,
I am not sure, he is at the local gunshows alot. He does Alot of primitive weaponary. Absolutly astonishing. Quality work. I will have to ask next time I see him, I had a card with a phone number. I am not sure if it is still around. This guy makes knives, Hawks, and Flint, steel arrowheads. Cool stuff. I have a knife made from a bush hog blade. It holds an edge like no other knife I oww, except my KaBAR.My neighbor made it. He left to me when he passed on. He used to Hand make canoes. He was a True Florida Cowboy. Sometimes the handmade stuff is neater than the store bought stuff.8dDUCE.
